About Organoids

Definition

Organoids are 3D multicellular structuresthat are progressively differentiated from pluripotentstem cells (PSCs).

Applications

  • Disease modeling through gene editing or patient-derived cells.

  • Target screening and drug development.

  • Potential applications in tissue repair and organ replacement therapy.

AKR Kidnioid® Kidney Organoid Technology Platform

Powered by a proprietary culture system, the Kidnioid Kidney Organoid Technology Platform delivers high-throughput, standardized kidney organoid production. Multiple batches are reliably generated eachmonth, with organoids averaging 600-800 um in diameter and comprising 200,000-300,000 cells, whilemaintaining outstanding structural uniformity and robust performance across applications.

Kidnioid kidney organoids are generated from human embryonic stem cells (ESCs) or induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). They contain glomerulus-like structures (podocytes), tubule-like structures (proximaltubules and distal tubules), and vascular-like structures. The organoids express biomarkers associatedwith proximal tubular reabsorption, water transport, and endocytosis, and exhibit normal cell polarity expression.
